The program was organized by the Education Department, Chandigarh Administration, in which the students were presented with certificates and incentives of ₹ 5000 each.

The principals and teachers of four government schools were also specially felicitated in the ceremony, who ensured 100 percent result of their respective schools. This is not only an example of educational quality, but also a proof that continuous and effective efforts are being made towards ensuring quality education in government schools.
On this occasion, the Chandigarh Administration also formally launched three new initiatives in the field of education, which will not only benefit the students but will also give a new direction to the education system of the city.

In the first phase of the ‘Adopt-a-School Mentorship Initiative’, 42 government schools of Chandigarh have been included, which will benefit about 60,000 students. Under this initiative, senior officials of the administration, doctors, lawyers, sportspersons, entrepreneurs and experts from other fields will adopt these schools and provide guidance to the students on topics like health, hygiene, moral values, cyber awareness and life skills. This is an effort that will prepare children for the world outside books, and promote practical knowledge in the society.
Apart from this, the Governor also mentioned the MoU signed between the Education Department and reputed coaching institutes of Chandigarh under the ‘Udaan Project’. Under this agreement, now about 700 brilliant students of the city will be provided free coaching for national level competitive examinations like JEE, NEET, IAS, PCS and NDA. This initiative will prove to be a boon especially for those students who are talented but are unable to realize their dreams due to lack of resources.

Governor Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, while launching the “Cashless Campus” service, called it a revolutionary step in the education system of Chandigarh. He said that this initiative will not only make financial transactions safe, transparent and simple in schools, but will also empower students towards digital literacy. The Governor termed this innovation as a strong effort towards the resolution of Developed India 2047.
Addressing the students on this occasion, the Governor said that this success is not only the result of their hard work, but is also a reflection of the dedication, cooperation and guidance of their teachers and parents. He specifically mentioned that, “The real credit for this success goes to the teachers. The respect for a teacher is the same today as it was earlier. Time has changed, technology has changed, but the contribution and importance of the one who imparts education is still steadfast.”

In his address, Governor Kataria motivated the children and said that education is not just a means to pass exams or score marks, but it is a tool through which we can bring meaningful change in the society. He said that “we should not only have knowledge, but also the qualities of humanity.”
Governor Kataria shared the vision of “Developed India 2047” on this occasion and said that Chandigarh can become the pioneer of this mission. He said that “Our dream is that Chandigarh should not only become a smart city but also a visionary city – where we show direction to the country on all parameters of education, innovation, cleanliness, digital progress and good governance.”
