Two Major Visa Fraud Cases Registered in Chandigarh, Loss Exceeds ₹1.22 Crore

Police Station Sector 17, Chandigarh, has registered two separate cases under Sections 318(4), 61(2) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 24 of the Immigration Act, following complaints of large-scale cheating on the pretext of providing work and tourist visas.

FIR No. 122 was lodged on the complaint of Ajay Kumar, a resident of Village Chouli, District Kangra (Himachal Pradesh), against accused persons Pankaj, Rahul Sharma, Neeraj, Mandeep, and others. They allegedly defrauded victims of approximately ₹38.43 lakh through various means.

FIR No. 123 was registered on the complaint of Subhash Verma, resident of Plot No. 72-73, Gali No. 4, Vishnu Colony, Shri Ganganagar (Rajasthan), against Anubhav Garg @ Anshu, Jasdeep, Hunny Singh, Satkar Singh, Fateh, Ritika, Rajveer, Varun, Rudra Singh, Rajbir Singh, Rajdeep, Sehajpreet, Harjeet Singh, Rudar, Janvi Sharma, Ramandeep Singh, and others. The accused are alleged to have cheated multiple victims of around ₹83.61 lakh.

In both cases, the accused promised foreign work and tourist visas but failed to deliver after collecting large sums of money from complainants. Police said that investigations are currently underway.
