Urgent Request to Chief Justice Punjab and Haryana High Court: Call for Ambulance Services and Enhanced Security at District Court, Chandigarh
The Voice of Chandigarh:
A formal request has been made to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, seeking immediate action to address two critical issues concerning the District Court premises in Chandigarh: the absence of a dedicated ambulance service and concerns over the maintenance of law and order.
In a letter submitted to the Chief Justice by the Chairman Legal Cell-CTCC Adv Bhag Singh Suhag, he highlighted the pressing need for a fully equipped ambulance to be stationed at the District Court. The lack of such a service could prove detrimental in case of medical emergencies, which are not uncommon given the daily footfall of judges, lawyers, court staff, litigants, and the general public.
In addition, he raised concerns about the law and order situation within the court premises. Citing recent incidents of disorderly conduct, the letter urges the Hon’ble Court to direct the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Chandigarh, to enhance security measures at the District Court. This would include regular patrolling, increased deployment of security personnel, and prompt action against any disturbances that may threaten the court’s functioning or the safety of those present.
