Following the successful completion of the New Delhi curtain raiser and Mumbai roadshow under the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, the Chandigarh roadshow was led by the Hon’ble Minister of Water Resources and Water Supply, Food, Civil Supply, and Consumer Protection Affairs Kunvarjibhai Bavaliya. The event witnessed the presence of Roopwant Singh, IAS, Managing Director, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) Ltd; Ashwini Johar, Chairman, Center of Economic Policy Research; Mr. Amarbir Singh, Former Chairman- CII Chandigarh UT & Managing Director, Indian Polymer Industries; Mr. Vinod Agarwal, Former Chairman, CII Gujarat State Council; Kamlesh Rabadia, Special Secretary, Water Resource Dept of Govt. of Gujarat along with dignitaries and leaders from business and industry.
Ahead of the Roadshow, Hon’ble Minister Water Resources and Water Supply, Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Protection Affairs Kunvarjibhai Bavaliya, engaged in one-to-one meetings with leading industry leaders from various sectors including Mr Vivek Verma, MD, Spray Engineering Devices Ltd; Mr Vijay Kumar Gupta, MD, Valco Industries Ltd; Mr Jaspreet Singh Arora, Partner, Ramada Plaza; Mr Sandeep Jain, Executive Director, Monte Carlo Fashions Ltd; Mr Hartek Singh, CMD, Hartek India Pvt Ltd; Mr Anurag Gupta, MD, Usha Yarns Ltd; Mr Deepak Mahajan, CFO, IDS Infotech; Mr P. J. Singh, Chief MD, Tynor Orthotics Ltd; Mr Rohit Grover, MD, JREW Engineering Ltd; Mr Arun Grover, CMD, Amartex Industries Ltd; Mr. Amarbir Singh, MD, Indian Polymer Industries.
During these meetings, he elaborated on the success of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, showcasing how the state has emerged as a role model of development. Hon’ble Minister emphasized that the Vibrant Gujarat Summit has made Gujarat the most preferred investment destination and a centre of major socio-economic activities.
During his address, the Hon’ble Minister said, “Under the leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has successfully completed the G20 Presidency. The success of the G20 has raised India’s position further globally. I feel proud to share with you all that the Hon’ble Prime Minister, during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, thinking ahead of time, had organised the first Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in 2003 with the spirit of One Earth, One Family, One Future, and it is a wonderful coincidence that this was the theme for the G20 India Presidency Summit too. Vibrant Gujarat Summit became a medium through which Modiji brought together world investors and thought leaders on one platform to explore new ideas and ways on how we all can move forward together.”
He added, “In the last nine years, the Government of India under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister has launched new ideas and reforms. Initiatives and reforms such as Atmanirbhar Bharat, PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, PLI Scheme, ease of doing business, and ease of living are some of the initiatives launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister which has given India a new identity on the global platform.”
He shared, “Gujarat is fortunate that under the visionary guidance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister in the past two decades, Gujarat has become the growth engine of India. In the last two decades, Vibrant Gujarat has played a crucial role in Gujarat’s development journey. Today, this summit has become one of the most prestigious global forums for business networking, knowledge sharing, partnership, and socio-economic development.”
He said, “The theme of the tenth Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 is “Gateway to the Future”, which is in line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047”. He added, “I am happy to inform you that Gujarat is a leading state in the renewable energy sector and Gujarat’s renewable energy capacity has reached twenty-two (22GW). Additionally, we are also developing India’s largest hybrid renewable energy park. Not only this, we have also set a target to generate (100 GW) of renewable energy. Also, to promote wind, solar, and hydrogen technology-based renewable generation projects, we have recently launched the Gujarat Renewable Energy Policy.”
Further, he said, “There are a lot of discussions going on in the country today regarding semiconductors and Gujarat is also playing a leading role in this sector. Gujarat is the first state in the country to launch a dedicated semi-conductor policy to attract investment in this sector. Gujarat has been recognized as the leading State in India for semiconductor manufacturing. Micron, India’s first and largest investor in the semiconductor sector, has recently started the setting up of a semiconductor plant in Gujarat.” He added, “The upcoming Vibrant Summit will also organize seminars and conferences on important topics like the Semiconductor Sector, Sustainable Manufacturing, Green Hydrogen, Electric Mobility, Renewable Energy and Industry 4.0.”
He concluded by saying, “Let us all come together once again to take the development journey of Gujarat to a new height and fulfil the vision of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The tenth edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is being organized in this Amrit period of the country and should become the Amrit future for us.”
The Hon’ble Minister of Water Resources and Water Supply, Food, Civil Supply, and Consumer Protection Affairs invited everyone to the Vibrant Summit 2024, with the goal of building a sustainable business eco-system.
