  • All of Victoria’s top 15 markets are forecast to grow to 2030, but markets in Asia are forecast to experience higher growth compared to more mature Western markets.
  • The State’s destination marketing activity and blockbuster events calendar continues to back our visitor economy growth, with 2026 shaping up to be a huge year.

The year kicks off at the Australian Open 2026 – a significant global platform to showcase the State’s vibrance and diversity. Melbourne and Victoria will be highly visible within the Melbourne Park precinct and global broadcast, with the State’s ‘Every bit different’ campaign integrated throughout the event and including content featuring our iconic Melbourne trams and the penguins.

Other highlights in this active year include the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, the Asia Pacific Incentives & Meeting Event (AIME) 2026, the First Regular NFL Season game in Australia to be played at the MCG, and the Australian Open Golf at Kingston Health.

Visit Victoria will continue to work collaboratively with our partners and industry to create and convert demand for our State’s extraordinary visitor experiences, as connect with Team Victoria on capability-building and training opportunities.
