Visa Fraud Case Filed in Chandigarh, Accused of Cheating ₹1.55 Lakh
The Voice of Chandigarh News: A case has been registered at the Police Station Sector 34, Chandigarh, under FIR No. 03 against two individuals, Malkit Singh and Rupinder, both residents of Chandigarh, for allegedly defrauding a complainant of ₹1.55 Lakh in a visa-related scam.
The complaint was filed by Mukesh Basataia, a resident of Ismailabad, Kurukshetra, Haryana. According to Basataia’s statement, the accused promised to facilitate a visa process, but instead, they cheated him out of the said amount.
The charges against the accused include sections 409 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as well as Section 24 of the Immigration Act.
The police have initiated an investigation, and further developments in the case are awaited.
