Chandigarh Traffic Police is observing Road Safety Week 2023 in U.T. Chandigarh from 11th January to 17th January, 2023. During this road safety week, various road safety awareness events will be organized by Chandigarh Traffic Police. Today, Road Safety Awareness Cell (RSAC) of Chandigarh Traffic Police launched Road Safety Awareness session at Elante Mall, Industrial Area Phase I, CHD to aware the Security guards and shop employees about provisions of Rule 3, Rule 5(5), (14) & Rule 22 of the Motor Vehicle Driving Regulation 2017, Motor Vehicle ( Amendment ) Act 2019 and CMVR 1989 and appealed to them to adhere to these provisions for making roads safer. Apart from the above, a road safety awareness session was also conducted for 150 Auto Rickshaw drivers at ISBT Sector 43.<\/p>\n\n\n

During this programme, they have been made aware about various road safety issues along with Impact and Importance of various important issues for their own safety as well as for the safety of other road users which is as under:-<\/strong>
\u2606 Affixing of Reflective Tapes for visibility during night to other Motor Vehicles.
\u2606 Impact of Mobile phone usage, usage with ear plug upon pedestrian, cyclist and Motor Vehicles Drivers
\u2606 Importance of Road Signages & Road Markings and Traffic light signals.
\u2606 Impact of Drunken driving.
\u2606 Importance and Impact of Lane driving and how to change lane.
\u2606 Importance of rear view mirror and mirror check after indicator and before turning Left\/right or changing lane.
\u2606 Unnecessary honking and its effect.
\u2606 Importance of pedestrian Zebra crossing.
\u2606 They were also made aware about the law covering GOOD SMARTARIAN also.
\u2606 Stop your vehicle engine when you stop your vehicle at Red Light for ENVIRONMENT SAFETY.
\u2606 Give way To Emergency Vehicles i.e Ambulance, Fire-Brigade & Police (PCR) Vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n
