350 Players Shine at 5th Chandigarh Hot Weather Table Tennis Tournament 2026; Atul Nanda Encourages Young Sporting Talent

The three-day 5th Chandigarh Hot Weather Table Tennis Tournament 2026 was held from 29th May to 31st May, 2026, at the Table Tennis Hall, Sector 23, Chandigarh. On this occasion, Atul Nanda (Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court and President of the Punjab Table Tennis Association) along with Pankaj Sharma (Senior Advisor of the Punjab Table Tennis Association) Gagan Bari, Advisor of the Punjab Table Tennis Association, Sumit Bari, Treasurer of the Punjab Table Tennis Association, Manish Bhardwaj, Table Tennis Coach of the Punjab Sports Department, Manmeet Singh, Joint Secretary of the Punjab Table Tennis Association and Ganesh Ahuja (International Table Tennis Player) distributed prizes among the children, blessed them and motivated them to excel in sports and move forward in life.

During the tournament, Atul Nanda personally interacted with the children and inspired them greatly towards sports. His wife, Rameeza Hakim, also attended the tournament and blessed the children, which further boosted their enthusiasm and encouraged them to pursue sports with greater passion.

Around 300 to 350 players from different states and districts, including Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Mansa, Barnala, Sangrur, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and many other regions, participated in the tournament and displayed excellent sportsmanship and talent.

The three-day tournament was conducted under the leadership of Competition Manager Kanav Khanna and Organizing Secretary Rahul Malhotra, making it a grand success. Even the quarter-finalists were awarded prizes, encouraging children to stay motivated and develop greater respect and interest in sports.

This tournament was organized in memory of Late Shri R.S. Mehta Ji and marked the fifth edition of the event. It is held every year at the Table Tennis Hall in Sector 23, Chandigarh, with hopes of becoming even bigger and better in the future.

The tournament’s technical team also played an important role in its success. Kapil Kundra, Deepak Mehta, Jagdish Singh, Sahil Janveja, Rishabh Saini, Nakash Mehra, Pawan Janveja, Piyush Pujara, Anil Kumar and Manpreet Singh made significant contributions and worked wholeheartedly to ensure the successful organization of the tournament.
