88 Indians Rescued from Nepal Flood Crisis; 287 Still Missing

Four more Indian nationals were rescued from a hydropower project in Rasuwa amid ongoing relief and rescue operations in Nepal. The rescued persons have been identified as Ripu Kumar, Chaneshwar Narzary, Kripa Shankar and Mohammed Minhajuddin. They are expected to reach Kathmandu shortly.

Six forensic expert teams from India are also expected to reach Kathmandu  to assist Nepalese authorities in analysing DNA samples for the identification of mortal remains.

A specialised technical team for tunnel rescue reconnaissance, which reached Kathmandu ,began work in the affected area. Based on its recommendations, a specialised tunnel rescue team from India, along with necessary equipment, is expected to reach Nepal today.

Meanwhile, 120 Indian nationals crossed into Nepal from China.

As of August 29, the total number of Indian nationals rescued stands at 88, while 287 Indian nationals remain missing. In addition, 128 persons of Indian origin have been reported missing.

Indian authorities continue to coordinate closely with Nepalese agencies to support rescue, identification and relief operations.
