Adviser Inspects Health and Wellness Centres

The Adviser to the Administrator, Chandigarh visited some of the Health and Wellness Centres in Chandigarh today.
During the inspection, the following were discussed and decided:-
Health and Wellness Centre at Daria, Chandigarh
Bimla Dubey, Councillor, Chandigarh Municipal Corporation informed that the existing Dispensary and Health & Wellness Centre is inadequate being operated from 2-3 rooms. She suggested that the facility of the Animal Husbandry and adjacent land may be utilized for construction of new Health & Wellness Centre.
It was decided that the existing facility of the Animal Husbandry Department and the adjacent land shall be utilized for construction of new Health and Wellness Centre. The Architect Wing, Chandigarh Administration will finalise the drawings for the Health & Wellness Centre and the Engineering Department, Chandigarh will construct a building preferably within a period of six months. It was also decided to shift the facilities of Animal Husbandry to the premises of existing Health & Wellness Centre there.
Health & Wellness Centre at Mauli Jagran
The Chief Architect, Chandigarh Administration informed that the ear-marked land parcels for Community Centre and Health & Wellness Centre were interchanged due to high tension lines.
It was decided that the vacant land parcel, which has now been ear-marked for Health & Wellness Centre can be utilized for construction of Health & Wellness Centre.
The Architect Wing, Chandigarh Administration will finalise the drawings and the Engineering Department, Chandigarh Administration to take further action for construction. The whole piece of vacant land to be allotted for the Health & Wellness Centre and there should be proper boundary wall to avoid any encroachment. However, in future appropriate decision may be taken for utilisation of a part of the land for other purposes, if deemed fit.Health & Wellness Centre at Hallomajra
It was decided that the Education Department, Chandigarh Administration to examine possibility of shifting of the Skill Centre to the nearby school so that this land may be merged with the existing Health & Wellness Centre. However, if this is not found feasible then the Architect Wing, Chandigarh Administration to provide drawings for additional construction in the existing land of the Health & Wellness Centre to provide proper waiting area to the visiting patients and few rooms to be used by the Health Department. The UT Engineering Department to take further action for construction.
Health & Wellness Centre at Dhanas
It was decided that to provide immediate relief the basic works to be carried out by the Chandigarh Housing Board for which approval has already been accorded by the Health Department. However as a long term solution, the earmarked land parcel at Dhanas to be developed as a 50 bedded hospital and if required the possibility of increasing the ear-marked land may also be considered by the Architect Wing. Thereafter, the Architect Wing, UT Chandigarh to finalise the drawings and the UT Engineering Department to take further action for construction of health facility.
Health & Wellness Centre at Maloya
The existing Health & Wellness Centre at one of the Community Centre has come up well and hence it may continue there to provide good facilities to the rehabilitated population. However, the Architect Wing to finalise drawing for construction of 50 bedded hospital at the earmarked parcels of land and the UT Engineering Department to take further action for construction.
The worthy Adviser to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh also issued following directions:-
i) There should be proper internet connectivity at each of the Health & Wellness Centre so that uninterrupted telemedicine services can be provided on the e-sanjeevani platform.
ii) The parks in the Maloya and Dhanas Rehabilitation Colonies and also the small green patches between the blocks need to be properly developed/ maintained by the Horticulture Department. Tree plantation should be done on priority by the Horticulture Department of UT Administration.
Yashpal Garg, Secretary Health, UT Chandigarh, C. B. Ojha, Chief Engineer, UT Chandigarh, Kapil Setia, Chief architect, Palika Arora, Director, Animal Husbandry & Fisheries, UT Chandigarh and other Senior Officers of the Chandigarh Administration were present.
