SPECIAL LOK ADALAT FOR DISPOSAL OF TRAFFIC CHALLANS

A special National Lok Adalat is being organized on 16.07.2022 from 09:30 AM onwards at District Court Complex, Sector-43, Chandigarh for the disposal of approximately 7400 Traffic Challans issued and pending for compounding during lockdown period 2020-21.

During 2020-21, 2281 vehicles were impounded by Chandigarh Traffic Police. The process of auction of these vehicles has already been initiated by sending notices to the registered vehicle owners. All such persons whose vehicles were impounded during the above mentioned period are requested to avail this opportunity to compound their challans and get their vehicles released else the vehicles so impounded will be auctioned in the due process of time.

Moreover, all those who have been issued challans for other traffic violations during 2020 may also attend the Lok Adalat to compound their challans. An updated list of impounded vehicles is also available on the official website of Chandigarh Police.
