Pen to Plantation: Chandigarh Writers Lead Green Revolution

The Voice of Chandigarh:

Leading literary organizations of the city — Samvaad Sahitya Manch, Trilingual Literary Forum, Acharya Kul Sanstha, Bhandari Adabi Trust, and Sangeeta Sahitya Sangam — jointly launched a tree plantation drive today at the Ayurvedic Dispensary premises in Sector 37, as part of the Van Mahotsav celebrations.

The initiative aims not only at environmental conservation but also at spreading awareness and greenery across the city. During the event, all participating writers pledged to plant at least 100 trees during this monsoon season and personally take care of them to ensure their growth.

Present on the occasion were Dr. Rajiv Kapila (in-charge of the dispensary), Dr. Gaurav, Dr. Agam, Umakant Tiwari, Principal Bahadur Singh Gosal, Dr. Pooja, Tara Arora, Prem Vij, Dr. Vinod Sharma, K.K. Sharda, Ashok Nadir Bhandari, and Dr. Sangeeta Sharma Kundra ‘Geet’.

All attendees reaffirmed their commitment to environmental protection and contributing consistently to making the city greener and cleaner. The initiative is also being seen as a creative and cultural support to the government’s tree plantation campaign.
