Big Relief for Consumers: Punjab CM Mann Announces Major Price Cut on Verka Milk & Dairy Products from Sept 22
Chandigarh, Sept 19, 2025:
In a landmark consumer-friendly initiative, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday announced a major reduction in prices of Verka’s milk and dairy products, giving relief to households hit by rising inflation.

Verka, Punjab’s state-backed farmers’ cooperative under Milkfed, will implement the revised prices from the morning of September 22, 2025, in line with the Government of India’s GST 2.0 reforms, which lowered tariffs on essential dairy items.
Highlighting the details, the Chief Minister said:
- Ghee: Cheaper by ₹30–35 per litre/kg
- Table Butter: Reduced by ₹30 per kg
- Unsalted Butter: Reduced by ₹35 per kg
- Processed Cheese: Reduced by ₹20 per kg
- UHT Milk (Standard, Toned & Double Toned): Reduced by ₹2 per litre
- Ice Cream (gallons, bricks & tubs): Reduced by ₹10 per litre
- Paneer: Reduced by ₹15 per kg
CM Mann emphasized that the move will benefit consumers, boost demand, and increase sales volumes, thereby strengthening Punjab’s cooperative model. He added that the revision will also multiply tax collections, improve fiscal health, and ensure farmer prosperity alongside consumer welfare.
