The Voice of Chandigarh
In a significant move towards enhancing public participation in Census 2027, Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda, IPS, Director General of Police, UT Chandigarh, successfully completed his self-enumeration through the online Census portal today. The self-enumeration process was facilitated by Dr. Navjot Khosa, IAS, Director, Directorate of Census Operations, UT Chandigarh and Ms. Khushpreet Kaur, SDM (Central), UT Chandigarh.

By undertaking the self-enumeration process, the DGP highlighted the simplicity, accessibility, and secure nature of the digital platform. He emphasized that such citizen-centric initiatives not only streamline the enumeration process but also ensure greater accuracy and transparency in data collection.

He has further appealed to all police personnel as well as the general public to actively participate in Census 2027 by making use of the self-enumeration facility. He underscored that accurate and timely submission of data is crucial for effective policy formulation, efficient resource allocation, and strengthening governance mechanisms.
Self-enumeration, a key feature of Census 2027, enables individuals to conveniently submit their demographic and socio-economic details online from the comfort of their homes. This initiative significantly minimizes the need for physical interaction while enhancing efficiency, coverage, and reliability of the data.
All residents are encouraged to avail themselves of this facility and contribute wholeheartedly to the success of Census 2027. Their active participation will play a pivotal role in building a comprehensive and credible national database, which is essential for informed decision-making and future planning.
