BJP Drops Rajya Sabha Candidate List; Tarun Chugh, Satish Poonia Among High-Profile Nominees

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha biennial and bye elections, finalising its line-up across several states in a move aimed at consolidating its strength in the Upper House of Parliament.
The party has nominated Tai Tagak from Arunachal Pradesh, while Rajubhai Shukla, Mukeshbhai Rathwa, Mansingh Parmar, and Jitendra Meghjibhai Kanzariya have been fielded from Gujarat.
From Madhya Pradesh, BJP has placed its trust in senior party leader Tarun Chugh along with Rajneesh Agrawal. In Manipur, A. Sharda Devi has been named the party’s candidate.
For Rajasthan, the BJP has nominated prominent leaders Satish Poonia and Dr. Alka Gurjar, while Debashish Samantaray has been declared the party’s candidate for the Rajya Sabha by-election in Odisha.
The announcement marks the BJP’s strategic push ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections, with the party banking on a mix of experienced leaders and regional representation to further strengthen its position in Parliament’s Upper House.
