Chandigarh Administration Assigns Additional Charges During Home Secretary’s Leave

The Chandigarh Administration has issued an order regarding the temporary redistribution of responsibilities during the leave period of Home Secretary Mandip Singh Brar, IAS, who is on leave from June 13 to June 28, 2026.
As per the order issued by the Department of Personnel, the charges held by the Home Secretary will be looked after by senior IAS officers in addition to their existing duties.
According to the order:
- Diprava Lakra, IAS has been assigned the additional charges of:
- Secretary Home, Police, Prisons and Coordination
- Secretary Environment & Forests
- Secretary Local Government & Urban Development
- Swapnil M. Naik, IAS will look after:
- Secretary Revenue
- Secretary Law & Justice
- Secretary Protocol
- Secretary Water Resources
- Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, IAS has been entrusted with the charge of:
- Secretary Health and Medical Education & Research
The order was issued with the approval of the competent authority and signed by H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS, Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh, on June 15, 2026.
The arrangement has been made to ensure the smooth functioning of various departments and uninterrupted administrative operations during the Home Secretary’s absence.
