Saudi Tourism Authority Appoints Ageel Alshaibani as New CEO to Drive Kingdom’s Tourism Growth

The Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) has appointed Ageel Alshaibani as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Alshaibani brings extensive experience in tourism strategy and public-sector leadership to the role. Prior to his appointment, he served as Deputy Minister of Tourism for Strategic Planning and Monitoring, where he played a key role in shaping and implementing Saudi Arabia’s National Tourism Strategy.

In his previous role, Alshaibani was involved in several strategic programmes and initiatives aimed at accelerating the growth of the Kingdom’s tourism sector and supporting the achievement of its sectoral targets.

Before joining the Ministry of Tourism, he served as Head of Strategy at the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk). His career also spans leadership positions across multiple sectors, adding to his experience in strategy, transformation and organisational development.

His appointment comes as Saudi Arabia continues to strengthen its tourism ecosystem and expand its position as a leading global destination under the Kingdom’s broader tourism development agenda.
