AAP Sweeps Mohali Civic Polls, Wins 24 of 41 Declared Wards

The Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Municipal Corporation election results saw a strong performance by the Aam Aadmi Party, which emerged as the leading party by winning 24 wards out of 41 declared results.
The Indian National Congress secured 8 wards, while the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Bharatiya Janata Party won 3 wards each. Independent candidates also registered victories in 3 wards.
Among the notable winners, Charanjit Kaur of Congress won Ward No. 1 by 436 votes, while Rajinder Parsad Sharma Parsh ofAAP secured Ward No. 2 with a margin of 807 votes. Baljit Kaur of Congress recorded one of the biggest victories by winning Ward No. 37 with a margin of 882 votes.
AAP candidates dominated several wards across Mohali, including Wards 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11, 17, 18, 26, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33, 34, 36, 38, 39, 40, 42, 43, 45, 47 and 50.
The closest contest was witnessed in Ward No. 47, where AAP candidate Parminder Kaur won by just one vote. BJP candidates managed victories in Wards 41, 48 and 49, while SAD candidates won Wards 7, 9 and 44.
The results indicate a clear advantage for AAP in the Mohali civic body elections, strengthening the party’s position in urban Punjab politics.
