Administrator, UT Chandigarh Inaugurates Sector-34 AYUSH Integrated Hospital and Sector-11 AYUSH Dispensary

Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, inaugurated the AYUSH Integrated Hospital at Sector-34 and the Government AYUSH Dispensary at Sector-11, Chandigarh.
The event was attended by H. Rajesh Prasad, Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh; Mandip Singh Brar, Home-cum-Health Secretary; Dr. Atul N. Dhakne, Director, AYUSH Chandigarh; Dr. Ravneet Kaur, Director-Principal, GMCH-32; Rajiv Tewari, Director, Public Relations; Prem Lata, MC Councillor Sector-34; senior officers of the Chandigarh Administration, medical and AYUSH experts and eminent citizens.
The programme commenced with the screening of a short documentary showcasing the vision, development and key features of the AYUSH Integrated Hospital and the integrated healthcare services being made available to the citizens.
Addressing the gathering, Gulab Chand Kataria said that India’s traditional systems of medicine have always promoted the concept of holistic healthcare by addressing the physical, mental and spiritual dimensions of well-being. He said that the integration of AYUSH with modern medicine is a significant step towards providing comprehensive, affordable and patient-centric healthcare. Emphasising preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyles and wellness, he called for making these a people’s movement and expressed confidence that the institution would emerge as a centre of excellence for integrated healthcare, benefiting not only the residents of Chandigarh but also people from the neighbouring region.
The Administrator UT Chandigarh appreciated the dedicated efforts of the AYUSH Department, Health Department, Engineering Department, doctors, officers and staff for completing the project in a time-bound manner.
Speaking on the occasion, the Home-cum-Health Secretary said that under the guidance of the Hon’ble Governor and Administrator, the Chandigarh Administration is continuously strengthening accessible, comprehensive and citizen-centric healthcare. He said that the AYUSH Integrated Hospital has been developed to provide integrated services in Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Yoga and modern medicine under one roof. The hospital offers specialist OPDs, a 12-hour OPD (8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM), 24×7 healthcare services, a 25-bed IPD facility, pharmacy, a Yoga and Wellness Centre, a scientifically designed Panchakarma Unit, geriatric care, maternal and child healthcare, immunization, family welfare services and screening for non-communicable diseases.
Following the inauguration, the Health Secretary visited various sections of the hospital and interacted with doctors and healthcare staff. He encouraged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, compassion and patient care and motivated them to work with dedication and team spirit to make the hospital a model institution for integrated healthcare in the region.
A free AYUSH Health Camp was also organised on the occasion, where citizens availed specialist consultations, health check-ups, Yoga counselling and free distribution of medicines.
