Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu on Saturday virtually inaugurated the Airbus India Technology Centre in Bengaluru, marking a significant step in strengthening India’s role as a global hub for aerospace innovation and technology. The event was also attended by Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar.
Addressing the gathering, the minister highlighted that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has rapidly emerged as a preferred destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs). He noted that the new centre established by Airbus represents the company’s second-largest digital and engineering hub outside Europe, underscoring India’s growing prominence in the global aerospace ecosystem.
The newly inaugurated campus in Bengaluru houses advanced engineering and innovation centres and is powered by India’s highly skilled and youthful workforce. The facility is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening research, design and digital capabilities in the aviation sector.
Officials said the centre will enable Indian engineers and technology experts to design and develop critical systems for Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters operating across the world, further reinforcing India’s position as a global GCC powerhouse.
The development is seen as a major boost to India’s aerospace and aviation technology landscape, while also generating new opportunities for high-skilled employment and innovation.
