Amit Kumar( DANICS) Relieved from Chandigarh Administration, Assigned to Delhi Government; Additional Charges Distributed

The Chandigarh Administration has relieved Amit Kumar, DANICS, from his duties with effect from the afternoon of July 31, 2026, following an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Order No. 14020/01/2026-UTS.II dated July 9, 2026). He has been transferred to the Government of Delhi to take up his new assignment.

Consequent to his relieving, the Chandigarh Administration has redistributed Amit Kumar’s responsibilities among senior officers as additional charges until further orders.

D. Karthikeyan, IAS, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Special Secretary, Personnel.

Ms. Radhika Singh, HCS, has been assigned three additional portfolios:

  • Joint Secretary, Home (including Jails)
  • Joint Secretary, Environment & Forests
  • Joint Secretary, Technical Education

Meanwhile, Rajiv Tewari, DC (F&A), has been given the additional charge of Joint Secretary, Coordination/Protocol.

The orders were issued by the Department of Personnel, Chandigarh Administration, with the approval of the Competent Authority and signed by Chief Secretary H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS. The redistribution of responsibilities is aimed at ensuring the smooth functioning of the departments following Amit Kumar’s transfer to the Delhi Government.
