Amit Shah visited Chandigarh and inaugurates several prestigious projects of Chandigarh Police

Union Home Minister, Government of India, Amit Shah visited the Union Territory of Chandigarh at CCET, Sector-26, Chandigarh to inaugurate several prestigious projects of Chandigarh Police:

  • Chandigarh Police in collaboration with DRDO has established CenCOPS a state-of-the-art laboratory at a cost of Rs 90 crore (approx) to enables the police forces of Chandigarh and neighboring States to solve complex Cyber Crimes and strengthen the Cyber Security setup.
    • Chandigarh Police in order to fill the vacant posts has made recruitments of 700 Constables and 44 Assistant Sub-Inspectors which is completed in just five months. Appointment letters were also given today. Apart from this, recruitment of 45 Sports Persons under sports quota and 150 IT Expert Constables in Chandigarh Police will also be completed before March 2024.
    • Chandigarh Police has recently purchased 25 new Tata Safari vehicles for an amount of Rs 3 crore 75 lakh to include in fleet of ERSS-112 which was flaggin will help in reducing crimes.
    • Police Command Control Vehicle (BAZZ) worth Rs 79 lakh is also going to be included in Chandigarh Police Fleet under “Assistance to States and Union Territories for Modernization of Police” (ASUMP). This special integrated command and control vehicle will help Chandigarh Police to monitor the ground situation and other law and order situations at the protest sites.
    • To increase house allotment satisfaction ratio among Chandigarh Police personnel, total 576 Type-II houses in Phase 1 and Phase 2 have been allotted in Chandigarh Armed Police (CAP) Complex, Dhanas, Chandigarh and 192 Type-II houses in Phase 3 will soon be allotted to police personnel. Total 1560 houses are to be built at approx. cost of Rs 494 crore in CAP Complex.
