Chandigarh Administration Conducts Full Dress Rehearsal for 79th Independence Day Celebrations

In preparation for the 79th Independence Day, the Chandigarh Administration conducted a full dress rehearsal at Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh, to ensure that every detail is perfectly in place for the grand event.

Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, was present to oversee the proceedings and review the arrangements for the celebration.

The rehearsal featured a parade by disciplined contingents of the Police, Armed Forces, Police Band, and NSS students, marching in perfect synchrony. The Civil Defence volunteers, enrolled after Operation Sindoor, in Chandigarh, were also part of the parade. The program also showcased vibrant cultural performances by students from various schools, reflecting the rich heritage and diversity of India.

Every element of the ceremony, from the parade’s timing to coordination among participants, was executed with precision, mirroring the high standards expected on the main day.

The Chandigarh Police have implemented a comprehensive security plan, including strategic traffic diversions, public advisories, and enhanced deployment to manage anticipated crowds and ensure the event’s smooth conduct.

The Chandigarh Administration invites all citizens to participate in the 79th Independence Day celebrations with pride and enthusiasm.

The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, will be the Chief Guest for the event. The celebrations will begin with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Hon’ble Governor at 9:00 AM, followed by various other programs that will mark the day.
