Chandigarh Administration Orders Major Reshuffle of 14 Senior Officers

In a major administrative move to strengthen governance and improve service delivery, the Chandigarh Administration ordered a reshuffle of 14 senior officers, including those from PCS, DANICS, HCS and allied services.

The reshuffle, ordered by Chief Secretary H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS, follows the joining of newly posted PCS officers Avikesh Gupta and Balbir Raj Singh, and aims to streamline departmental functioning and enhance administrative efficiency.

The transfers and additional charge allocations span key departments such as Transport, Prisons, Agriculture, Tourism, Housing, Sports, Technical Education, Public Relations and Estate Administration, with several officers entrusted with multiple responsibilities to ensure continuity.

Avikesh Gupta, PCS

Among the key postings, Avikesh Gupta (PCS) has been assigned roles in the Registering & Licensing Authority and Transport Department, while Balbir Raj Singh (PCS) has been appointed Joint IG (Prisons) and Superintendent, Model Jail, Chandigarh.

Naveen (DANICS) has been posted to Agriculture, Horticulture, Tourism and CITCO, Sorabh Kumar Arora (PCS) to Sports, Excise & Taxation and CHB, and Palika Arora (PCS) to Technical Education and Printing & Stationery.

Khushpreet Kaur (DANICS) has been appointed Assistant Estate Officer-II and SDM (Central), while Paviter Singh (PCS) will serve as SDM (East) along with the charge of Assistant Estate Officer-I. Rajiv Tewari (DCF&A) has been posted to the Public Relations Department and the Right to Service Commission.

Other officers given new or additional responsibilities include Akhil Kumar and Amit Kumar (DANICS), Pradhuman Singh, Radhika Singh and Dr Inderjeet (HCS), and Nitish Singla (PCS).

According to official sources, the reshuffle is aimed at achieving better administrative balance, faster decision-making and improved public service delivery. The order has been issued with the approval of the Administrator, UT Chandigarh, and takes immediate effect.
