Action against illicit liquor
Chandigarh Police arrested a lady resident of Colony No. 4, Chandigarh and recovered 28 quarters of country liquor from her possession near slaughter house, Colony No. 4, Ph-, Ind. Area, Chandigarh on 10.07.2021. A case FIR No. 106, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later, he bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested under NDPS Act
Chandigarh Police arrested Ghanshyam R/o Jhuggi No. 506, Block-G, Colony No. 4, Ph-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh (Age 45 years) and recovered 230gm ganja from his possession near light point, CTU workshop, Chandigarh on 10.07.2021. A case FIR No. 107, U/S 20 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Two arrested for consuming liquor at public place
Chandigarh Police arrested Parwind R/o # 487/A, Village-Daria, Chandigarh while he was consuming liquor at a public place near Pepsi Turn, Hallo Majra road, Village Dariya, Ind. Area, Chandigarh on 10.07.2021. A case FIR No. 108, U/s 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out.
Chandigarh Police arrested Pankaj R/o # 8, Water Works Colony, Sector-26, Chandigarh while he was consuming liquor at a public place near Market, Sector 30, Chandigarh on 10.07.2021. A case FIR No. 109, U/s 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. He was later bailed out.
Three persons arrested under Arms act
Chandigarh Police arrested Gaurav R/o # 1900 Vikash Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh and recovered one knife from his possession near Makhan Majra Road, Chandigarh on 10.07.2021. A case FIR No. 79, U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Rahul @ Shabu (age 24 years) R/o # 3793, Sector-25/D, Chandigarh and a lady (age 24 years) while both were possessing one country made pistol (.9mm) with 5 live cartridges and one country made pistol (.32mm) with 5 live cartridges in Accent car No. CH-04J-1233 near dividing Road, Sector 36/42, Chandigarh on 10.07.2021. A case FIR No. 124, U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested for MV theft
A lady resident of MHC, Manimajra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH01BA4189 along with documents while parked near her residence on 05-07-2021. Later a person namely Arjun R/o # 2270 Mari Wala Town, Mani Majra, Chandigarh (age 18 years) has been arrested in this case. A case FIR No. 124, U/S 379 added 411 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Snatching
A lady resident of DMC, Chandigarh reported that two unknown persons occupant of a motor cycle snatched away her gold chain near Community Center, DMC, Chandigarh on 09.07.2020. A case FIR No. 96, U/S 379/B, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Rioting
Rajesh R/o # 370, Village-Maloya, Chandigarh reported that Dharmender, Sunil along with 10/15 unknown persons attacked on complainant and his uncle with sticks, iron rod, knife, swords near Sukhdev Kutia, Village Maloya, Chandigarh on 10.07.2021. They also took away gold chain, gold ring, mobile phone, watch & purse containing ATM card, documents and cash Rs. 1500/- from them. A case FIR No. 98, U/S 147, 148, 149, 323, 341, 395, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Later person namely Sunil R/o # 2154/1, EWS flats, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh (age 30 years) has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
MV Theft
Chhaya Kant Lakhan Pal R/o # 2828, Sector-47/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Pulsar Motor Cycle No. CH-01CC-2215 parked near his house on the night intervening 19/20-07-2021. A case FIR No. 91, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Rahul R/o # 194, Sector-38/West, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Splendor Motor Cycle No. CH-01BK-9766 parked near his house on the night intervening 06/07-07-2021.
