Chandigarh Master Plan 2031 Amendments Win Stakeholders’ Support, Early Notification Urged

Chandigarh’s industrial, commercial and residents’ associations have welcomed the Chandigarh Administration’s proposal to introduce amendments to the Chandigarh Master Plan 2031.
According to reports published in local newspapers during the past week, the Chandigarh Administration has prepared a proposal to amend the Master Plan after considering representations and suggestions submitted over the years by various stakeholders, including industrial associations, commercial site owners and Residents Welfare Associations.
Welcoming the move, representatives of the stakeholder groups expressed appreciation for the Administration’s positive approach towards addressing long-pending concerns related to urban planning and development in the city.
They stated that the proposed amendments reflect the Administration’s willingness to consider the practical needs of different sectors and are expected to contribute to the city’s planned growth and economic development.
The stakeholders have urged the Chandigarh Administration to expedite the process and give the proposed amendments a practical shape by issuing the necessary notifications at the earliest.
Among those supporting the proposed changes are architect Adesh Joshi and Laghu Udyog Bharti President Avi Bhasin, who thanked the Administration for taking constructive steps and called for the swift implementation of the proposed amendments to the Chandigarh Master Plan 2031.
