In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, Chandigarh Police has successfully busted an inter-state drug supply network and arrested four alleged drug peddlers under the provisions of the NDPS Act.

Acting on specific intelligence and sustained surveillance, a team from Police Station Maloya dismantled the organized drug trafficking module operating across state borders. During the operation, the police recovered 2.290 kilograms of charas from the accused, dealing a significant blow to the illegal narcotics trade.

The four accused were taken into custody and booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Preliminary investigations suggest that the network was involved in the supply and distribution of narcotic substances in Chandigarh and adjoining regions.

Senior police officials described the operation as a major success in the ongoing campaign against drug trafficking and reaffirmed Chandigarh Police’s commitment to making the city drug-free. Further investigation is underway to identify other members of the network and trace the source and distribution channels of the seized contraband.

The operation highlights Chandigarh Police’s continued efforts to curb the menace of drugs and dismantle organized criminal networks involved in narcotics trafficking.
