Chandigarh police achieved a major success by arresting one accused namely Suraj Kumar S/o Krishanandan Parshad Singh R/o # E-29 B/14, UltraTech Cement Colony, Dalla, Sonbhadra, UP & Permanent Address:- Village Gabbey, Distt. Sheikhpura, Bihar. Age 45 years, in Case FIR No 76 dt 28.06.2023, U/s 376, 506 IPC, PS Indl. Area, PH I, Chandigarh, which was registered on the complaint of a lady. Complainant reported that alleged developed forcefully physical relations with her. After that he started blackmailing her, which made her upset. Accused arrested from near Government Nursery and sent to judicial custody. Investigation of the case is going on.

          As per direction of Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, W/SSP/UT, under the guidance of Mridul, IPS, W/SP/City and under the supervision of SDPO/Central, a team of SHO/PS-17, has achieved major success by arresting snatcher Vishal S/o Satpal Village Bharat Nagar Firozpur (PB) Age 24 yrs and Lovepreet S/o Tarshem Singh Vill Hasmitwala teh.Zeera Firozpur (PB) Age 22 Yrs in Case FIR No.132 Dated 30.07.2023  U/S:-379 A, 34 added 411 IPC PS-17 Chandigarh.

          Brief Facts of case:- The above said case has been registered on the complaint of Neelam W/o Suraj R/o H.No 844/10, Gobind Nagar, Naya Gaon, Distt Mohali (PB) age 36 yrs in which she stated  that on 30.07.2023, she along with her daughter was going to her home. When they entered in Sector 23 Chandigarh, two boys came on bike and snatched her chain and ran away on bike towards residential area of Sector 23 Chd.

           During investigation, both snatchers accused Vishal S/o Satpal Village Bharat Nagar Firozpur (PB) Age 24 yrs and Lovepreet S/o Tarshem Singh Vill Hasmitwala, Teh. Zeera Firozpur (PB) Age 22 Yrs. have been arrested with the help of one public person on 30.07.2023 and case property (i.e. snatched chain) recovered from their possession. During interrogation of accused, it revealed that the motorcycle used in the crime by accused has also been found stolen in the area of PS-17, UT Chandigarh. Both accused produced before the Hon’ble Court. The two days police remand of both the accused obtained to ascertain their involvement in another theft cases registered in PS area and other areas of Chandigarh.

                   In a major breakthrough, PO & Summon staff of Chandigarh Police under the directions of SSP U.T. Chandigarh, in the supervision of Sh. Vikas Sheokand, Dy. SP DCC and team headed by Sh. Hari Om Sharma, Inspector/Incharge PO & Summon staff is able to arrest a proclaimed offender involved in three years old case.

Arrest of Accused/Proclaimed Offender: – With the help of collection of information from different sources (technical & human) and a day/night search. The absconder /proclaimed offender has been arrested with secret information of informer and all the sincere efforts made by ASI Devinder Singh 3382/CP, Sr. C. Vipin Sharma 2345/CP (technical help) and C. Naveen Kumar 4750/CP. The Master Technical & Monitoring Cell of Chandigarh Police provided continuous assistance to locate the accused and helped the police officials of PO & Summon Staff:

The state case PO namely Kapil Nagpal S/o Nanak Chand R/o # 3055, Sector-52, Chandigarh and presently residing at # 2905/1, Sector-49, Chandigarh has been arrested from C/D Turn, Sector-9, Chandigarh in case FIR No 74 dated 27.10.2020, U/s 406, 498-A, Chandigarh, PS Women, Chandigarh. The case was registered on the complaint of  Neelam Jaswal (wife of accused) who stated that she got married to accused in December -2014. Her husband was not behaving well with her since then. She filed a complaint against him during the year 2017 about his misconduct, which was disposed after compromise. After then she again started to live with him alogwith her children. Then after some days her husband again started misbehaving with her and even refused to give her grocery and school fee of children. He started to beat her on small things. He started throwing anything upon her while beating her.

On 01.02.2019, he attacked on her with helmet. Anyhow she managed to save her. Later the case was registered against Kapil Nagpal, who got absent before the court and declared PO by the court of Puneet Mohinia, JMIC, Chandigarh vide order dated 12.07.2023. The accused produced before the Hon’ble Court and sent to judicial custody.

In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against snatchers as well as vehicle lifters. As per direction of Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime & HQ, under supervision of DSP Crime Udaypal Singh, a team of Crime Branch lead by Inspector Ashok Kumar arrested two vehicle lifters namely Rahul and Kartik and with their arrest two motor cycles were recovered from their possession.

Brief Fact:

          Anoop Narula s/o Ram Parkash Narula r/o # 397/1, Sector 45, Chandigarh reported that some unscrupulous person stolen his motor cycle  No. CH01BB-6368 parked at infront of his house i.e. 397/1, Sector 45, Chandigarh on the intervening night of 11/12.5.2023, in this regard E-FIR No. 363 Dated 21.5.2023 U/S 379,411 IPC PS-34, Chandigarh was registered.

                    Another case E-FIR No. 612 Dated 30.7.2023 U/S 379,411 IPC PS-31, Chandigarh was registered on the complaint of Anil Sharma s/o Som Nath Sharma r/o # 556, Preet Colony, Zirakpur, Punjab  in which he stated that some unknown person stolen his motor cycle  No. PB65N-3452 parked at market Ram Darbar, Ph.2, Chandigarh.

Apprehension of accused

          A secret information received that one boy having stolen motor cycle is about to sell it and will go to motor market sector 48, Chandigarh, acting upon this information accused Kartik was arrested from near BSF, Headquarter Ph.1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh and stolen motor cycle was recovered from his possession.

Another accused Rahul was apprehended from near Kabari market sector 45, Chandigarh as he was roaming there on motor cycle in suspicious condition and could not give any satisfactory reply. On being checked the motor cycle was found stolen.
