Chandigarh Police deploys Bullet Proof Kavach Rakshak QRT Vehicle

Chandigarh Police has added a dedicated Bullet Proof vehicle Kavach Rakshak to its fleet of Quick Reaction Teams, comprising of commandos armed with sophisticated weapons to counter any Terrorist Act in the city. The need of augmenting this Anti terror capacity has been envisioned under the noble guidance of W/DGP Chandigarh Police, Praveer Ranjan, IPS. Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Banwarilal Purohit had dedicated this vehicle to Chandigarh Police.

The addition of this vehicle strengthens the capabilities of the Chandigarh police to respond to any situation. The primary aim of deploying these ‘KAVACH’ Vehicles is to promptly respond to any terror attack in real life situations and to instil a feeling of security and safety amongst citizens with their visibility and deterrence.

Policemen who were given commando training are part of the elite strike force of the city police. This QRT KAVACH’ Van has been equipped with AK-47 rifles, MP5 machine guns, Glock pistol and LMG. The addition of the Kavach QRT adds to security of the city beautiful.
