Chandigarh Police have achieved major success by arresting one accused

The Chandigarh Police have achieved major success by arresting one accused person nameed Anuj Singh s/o Satan Singh r/o Village Aatgarhi, Tehsil Maliabad, Lucknow UP age 20 yearsin a snatching case i.e FIR No.161 dated 1.9.2022 u/s 379 A IPC registered at PS Ind. Area, Chandigarh.

Brief facts of the case are that on the intervening night of 31.08.22/01.09.22 at about 12.06 AM, information was received that a phone had been snatched near Hotel GP Royal, Dariya Chandigarh. On this information, ASI Deep Singh along with team, reached the spot and found that the injured person namely Raj Kumar Verma had already been shifted to GMCH- 32 for treatment by ambulance. ASI Deep Singh reached GMCH-32, Chandigarh and after getting the fitness of the Patient, complainant Raj Kumar Verma s/o Phool Chand Verma # 1781, New Shobhpur Colony, Jabalpur (MP), gave a complaint wherein he stated that he is Jr. Works Manager, Gun Carriage Factory at Jabalpur and came to Chandigarh along with his colleague in connection with official work. On 31.8.2022, at about 11.00 PM, he went for a walk, and while he was returning to the hotel near the Royal Plaza Hotel (main road), an unknownperson snatched his Samsung N10 mobile phone and ran away. He attempted to catch him, but tripped and injured his mouth. On this complaint, a case FIR No.161 dtd 1.9.2022 u/s 379 A IPC PS IA was registered.

On the basis of a tip-off by Aaman, a taxi driver and the sincere efforts of the police party, accused Anuj Singh s/o Satan Singh r/o Village Aatgarhi, Tehsil Maliabad, Lucknow UP, age 20 years, was apprehended the same night, and the snatched mobile phone (approx. price of 80,000/-) was recovered from his possession. The accused was found working in an Ahata at Village Dariya, Chandigarh. Today i.e 01.09.2022, the accused will be produced before the Hon’ble Court and will be sent to the judicial custody. The Good Samaritan was rewarded Rs 5000 by SSP UT
