Chandigarh Police nabbed drug supplier Shubham Jain and recovered 108 Grams Amphetamine Ice and 70 Grams Heroin from his possession

In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against drug suppliers. As per direction and guidance of Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime & HQ, and of DSP Crime Udaypal Singh, a team of ANTF under the Supervision Inspector Satvinder Singh nabbed a drug supplier namely Shubham Jain @ Gourav and recovered 108 Grams Amphetamine Ice and 70 Grams Heroin from his possession as well as co-accused Puneet Kumar and recovered 1 Country Made Pistol along with 5 live cartridges.

On 27.07.2023, one team headed by SI Sumer Singh was on Crime Control and prevention patrolling duty in Sector 45, UT, Chandigarh i.e. Police Station 34, area. While police team was near Park, In front of House No.106, 107, Sector-45A, UT, Chandigarh, on suspicion one person was apprehended with the help police personnel and 108 Grams Amphetamine Ice and 70 Grams Heroin were recovered from his possession. On asking he disclosed his name Shubham Jain @ Gourav S/o Devinder Jain R/o House No.900, Sector-45, Burial Chandigarh, age-28 years. In this regard a Case FIR No. 115 Dt. against him registered.

During investigation police remand of accused Shubham Jain was obtained and he was interrogated thoroughly and his disclosure statement was got recorded, in which he disclosed that the name of Firozpur based main drug suppler Puneet. Beside this, he also disclosed the name of some other suppliers and buyers of drug.

Acting upon the information provided by accused Shubham Jain, team of Crime Branch conducted raid in the area of District- Firozpur, PB in the search of accused Puneet but he got a hint from family member of accused Shubham Jain that Shubham was arrested by police and subsequently Puneet change his sim card but on the human and technical basis and day-night efforts and succeeded in arresting main supplier namely Puneet Kumar S/o Rajesh Kumar R/o # Nizamudeen Basti Ayrwa/Pipe Factory, Firozpur city District- Firozpur, Punjab, age-24 years was arrested from Shop. No.284, Bazar No.4, Firozpur cant, Punjab. During apprehension accused Puneet try to remove an illegal .32 Bore country made pistol from his right side belt area but police officials caught hold him safely. On checking the pistol was found loaded with 5 live cartridges, which was taken in police possession, U/s 29 NDPS Act and 25-54-59 Arms Act added in this case accordingly. The father of accused Puneet Kumar is serving in Punjab as ASI and posted in Firozpur, PB.

Accused Shubham Jain is selling drug from last two and half years already and he is facing trail in two NDPS Act cases. Previously he was arrested by district Crime Cell Chandigarh with 60 Grams Heroin and 3 gram Amphetamine and in another case he was arrested by STF Mohali with 170 grams Heroin.

On interrogation of both accused, it came on record that both accused used international WhatsApp Numbers to talk each other and kept a separate sim card for data providing. The both talk to their customer on WhatsApp and do not share their sim number and avoid direct calls as the police could not get their information and location. Shubham delivered drugs to local drug abused, while Puneet was in contact with other smugglers who arranged him Heroin from Pakistan.

Both accused are on police remand to ascertain the sources of origin of recovered contraband drugs & illegal arms and name of person (s), whom, it to be sell in tricity will be ascertained from arrested accused persons.
