CHANDIGARH POLICE: “SAMPARK SABHA” PROGRAMME HELD

A “Sampark Sabha” programme was held at Multipurpose Hall, Police Lines, Sector-26, Chandigarh, for the Chandigarh police personnel. On this occasion, Praveer Ranjan, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh, R.K. Singh, IPS, IGP/UT, Deepak Purohit, DIG/UT, Ms. Manisha Chaudhary, IPS, SSP/Traffic & Security, Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT, Chandigarh, Ketan Bansal, IPS, SSP/Headquarters, Ms. Shruti Arora, IPS, SP/EOW & Comdt. IRB, Mridul, IPS, SP/City, all DSPs, Inspectors and other officials were present on this occasion. The event was held to keep the police personnel in high spirits. About 300 police officials attended the programme from all ranks and units of the Chandigarh Police force. The welcome address was given by Ram Gopal, DSP/CID & PRO and praised the DGP/UT for the recent initiatives taken as welfare of police personnel of Chandigarh police.

During the function, the pining ceremony for new promotee was held in which total 32 officials were decorated of Rank to Inspector LR (04), SI (13) and ASI (15). The keys of 170 govt. houses from police pool were also handover to the new allottees by the worthy DGP/UT.

DGP/UT in his official address extended the warm wishes to the newly promoted police personnel and house allottees and their family members. During the Sabha, DGP/UT listened to the grievances/suggestions of the police personnel and ensured them to resolve these soon. Some of the suggestions were regarding continuation of the widow pension after service, relaxation from duty timing for blood donors (Rakt Veer), installation of LED screen at Govt. School, etc.

DGP/UT in his address highlighted the fulfilled demands of police personnel regarding the promotions and police house allotments raised during the last period which is mentioned as below:-

Besides this, 87 Police officials have been nominated for upper school course and 116 police officials nominated for lower school course this year. The Local Ranks were also given to the police personnel. The recruitment of 32 candidates was done on compassionate grounds among the wards of departed police officials. The house allotment was done to meet residence problems of the police officials in which 242 houses were allotted in 2021, 400 in 2022 and 174 houses in 2023. Moreover, 240 more police quarters have been constructed which will be allotted to the police personnel very soon.

Chandigarh Police has added 176 more vehicles in its fleet i.e. 105 two wheelers, 18 Toyota, 44 Scorpio, 3 Innova Crysta, 1 Force Ambulance, 3 Tata Mini Bus. Chandigarh Police is going to change the PCR fleet soon to give services to the citizen more efficiently. The addition of these vehicles will strengthen the capabilities of the Chandigarh police to respond to any situation.

The buildings of 6 new police stations i.e. PS-IT Park, Maloya, Mauli Jagran, 49, Sarangpur and Women Police Stations and of 3 Police Posts i.e PP-52, PP-22 & PP-BDC have been approved and sent to Engineering department. The foundation stone of Centre for Cyber Operations and Security (CenCOPS), a state-of-the-art facility, has been recently laid by the Hon’ble Defence Minister on 08th May for enabling police forces of Chandigarh and neighboring states in solving complex cyber crimes and strengthening cyber security setup. More CCTV Cameras are to be added in Police Command Control Room from different locations of the city. More features to be added in ERSS 112 services through C-DAC to bring more efficiency in police working.

DGP/UT also advised to all police officials to focus on their fitness and health by appraising Ram Gopal DSP, Chandigarh Police for his physical fitness during his long 32 years of service as role model for others. He also appreciated all the police officials especially women police for their good performance during their duties like VVIP movements and rallies/protests etc.

The “Sampark Sabha” programme was followed by high tea in a congenial environment of esprit-de-corps and the Chandigarh Police Band played melodious tunes for the members of the force.
