DHARNA AGAINST DRUGS HELD BY SENIOR PUNJAB CONGRESS PARTY MEMBERS IN FARIDKOT

THE PEOPLE OF PUNJAB HAVE BEEN CHEATED BY THE FALSE CLAIMS OF THE AAP GOVERNMENT: RAJA WARRING

THE DRUG MENACE HAS INCREASED BY 4 TIMES DURING THE AAP REGIME: PPCC CHIEF

The Voice of Chandigarh : A dharna was conducted in Faridkot by esteemed leaders of the Punjab Congress Party, aiming to combat the escalating drug menace in Punjab. The dharna was attended by prominent party leaders, including PPCC Chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa, Former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi, Former Deputy CM of Punjab Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and former Faridkot MLA Kikki Dhillon, among other senior party leaders.

The people of Faridkot united in significant numbers to voice their discontent concerning the prevailing situation in Punjab due to the mounting drug issue. Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the PPCC Chief, emphasized to the masses that the drug problem in Punjab had surged four times during the past year and a half.

In response to the Aam Aadmi Party’s promises made during their election campaign, Warring asserted that the state government had completely backtracked on their commitment to control the drug menace within their first four months in power. “The drug problem has intensified by fourfold instead of being curtailed in four months,” stated Warring.

Warring expressed his anguish regarding the disintegration of families in the state due to drug addiction. He remarked, “A mother gives birth to a child in nine months, but loses her future in a matter of seconds due to drugs.” He further observed that the entire state was gradually deteriorating due to the rising drug-related cases, which were resulting in the loss of children, siblings, and spouses, thus turning the lives of people upside down.

“Heroin and other synthetic drugs have hollowed our homeland,” remarked the PPCC Chief. Urging the state government to take resolute action against the issue at hand, Raja Warring clarified that his intent was not to engage in a political battle, but rather to work toward a better Punjab. “I will not lay blame; we know who is responsible. Now is the time to work towards a brighter future,” declared the PPCC Chief to the assembled crowd.

Taking aim at past Chief Ministers of the state, Raja Warring also accused those in power in the past of deceiving the people by issuing false statements and not making genuine efforts to eradicate the drug menace in Punjab. “Synthetic drugs infiltrated our state around 16 years ago and have ensnared our youth ever since. The youth are our future, and we must protect it without delay,” he emphasized.

Addressing various issues currently affecting Punjab, the PPCC Chief expressed dismay over the current ‘badlaav’ regime of the Aam Aadmi Party. Raja Warring commented, “Punjab is currently going through a dark period. The SYL issue, the 50,000 crore debt burdening Punjab, and the unjustified arrests made due to political pressure are all contributing to gloomy days for our state.”

Further addressing the state government, Warring urged the Aam Aadmi Party to respond to the people of the state. “Questions are being asked; it is time to provide answers. The people of Punjab will always stand for what is right and ensure that those in the wrong learn their lessons,” he stated.

Concluding his address, Raja Warring expressed gratitude to all those in attendance, commending their dedication to achieving a drug-free Punjab. He expressed his delight at the large turnout and pledged to continue the fight against drugs. “I will visit every district, town, and village to ensure that this problem is eradicated. I know the people of Punjab stand with the Congress Party in the battle against drugs, and we will soon put an end to this issue,” concluded Warring.
