Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh completes self-enumeration for Census 2027
Governor sets an inspiring example through self-enumeration; encourages citizens to participate in the secure digital census

The Governor of Haryana, Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh, took an important step towards promoting digital participation in Census 2027 by successfully completing his self-enumeration through the online census portal at Lok Bhavan here. Lady Governor Mitra Ghosh was also present on the occasion.
During this process, Director Directorate of Census Operations, UT Chandigarh, Dr. Navjot Khosa and Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer, UT Chandigarh, Nishant Kumar Yadav, extended their support. This initiative reflects the UT Administration’s commitment to using technology for efficient, transparent, and citizen-friendly census processes.
By completing his self-enumeration, the Governor has set an inspiring example for all residents and encouraged them to actively participate in this simple and secure digital process. Self-enumeration allows citizens to fill in their census details online at their convenience, ensuring accuracy while saving time for both citizens and enumerators.
During the process, the Governor emphasized the importance of accurate data for effective planning and policy-making. He appealed to all citizens to cooperate and make maximum use of this self-enumeration facility, which has been designed to be simple, accessible, and user-friendly.
The Directorate of Census Operations, UT Chandigarh, in coordination with the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer and the Chandigarh Administration, has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the self-enumeration process. These include a dedicated toll-free helpline (1855 or 18001803821) to assist citizens with any queries or technical issues.
Citizens may visit the official census portal (https://se.census.gov.in) and complete their self-enumeration within the stipulated time. The information collected will be kept strictly confidential and will be used only for statistical purposes, in accordance with the provisions of the Census Act.
The successful self-enumeration by the Governor marks an important milestone in the implementation of Census 2027 and is expected to encourage widespread public participation in this significant national exercise.
