Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra Appointed Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High Court; Eight Judges Get New Chief Justice Roles

Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra, currently a Judge of the Punjab & Haryana High Court, has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Punjab & Haryana High Court.

Other seven High Court judges have also been appointed as Chief Justices of various High Courts across the country. In exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India and in consultation with the Chief Justice of India, the President has appointed eight High Court judges as Chief Justices of various High Courts.

According to the appointments, Justice Valluri Kameswar Rao, Judge of the Delhi High Court, has been appointed Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, while Justice Ravindra V. Ghuge of the Bombay High Court will head the Calcutta High Court.

Justice Sanjay Kumar Agrawal of the Chhattisgarh High Court has been appointed Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, and Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi of the Allahabad High Court has been appointed Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.

Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra of the Orissa High Court will become Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court.

Further, Justice Alpesh Yeshvant Kogje of the Gujarat High Court has been appointed Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, while Dr. Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati of the Rajasthan High Court has been appointed Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.

The appointments mark an important reshuffle in the leadership of several High Courts across the country.
