Justice Lisa Gill Appointed Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court

In a significant development in the Indian judiciary, the President of India has appointed Justice Lisa Gill as the new Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Justice Gill will assume charge as Chief Justice with effect from April 25, 2026.

This appointment comes following the retirement of the incumbent Chief Justice Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, who demits office on April 24, 2026.

The appointment has been made by the President in exercise of powers under the Constitution of India, in consultation with the Chief Justice of India.
