Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2026 Begins: 1,000 Devotees Selected Through Computerized Draw

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday conducted the computerized draw of lots for the selection of pilgrims for the highly anticipated Kailash Manasarovar Yatra 2026.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the sacred pilgrimage will commence in June and conclude in August 2026. A total of 1,000 Yatris have been selected through a transparent, computer-generated, random, and gender-balanced process.
The selected pilgrims will travel in 20 batches of 50 Yatris each via the Lipulekh Pass and Nathu La Pass routes. Both routes are now fully motorable, significantly reducing the need for trekking and making the journey more accessible for devotees.
The Ministry has informed that the shortlisted Yatris have already received notifications through SMS and email. Applicants can also check their selection status on the official Kailash Manasarovar Yatra Portal or contact the helpline at 011-23088214 for assistance.
