Korea Tourism Organisation Appoints Cho Yoonmi as Director for India Operations

The Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) has appointed Cho Yoonmi as the new Director of its New Delhi office, marking a significant step in strengthening South Korea’s tourism outreach in the rapidly expanding Indian travel market.
In her new role, Cho will spearhead KTO India’s initiatives to promote South Korea as a preferred international destination among Indian travellers. She will work closely with travel trade partners, airlines, tour operators and other stakeholders to enhance tourism cooperation and boost visitor arrivals from India.
Bringing with her 25 years of experience with the Korea Tourism Organisation, Cho highlighted India’s growing importance in Korea’s global tourism strategy.
“India has emerged as one of the most dynamic and high-potential tourism markets for Korea. The relationship between our two countries continues to deepen, and I look forward to collaborating with our industry partners to showcase Korea’s diverse travel experiences and inspire more Indians to explore the destination,” she said.
The appointment comes at a time when outbound travel from India is witnessing strong growth, with South Korea actively expanding its presence through destination marketing, cultural promotions and strategic partnerships. Under Cho’s leadership, KTO aims to further strengthen tourism exchanges and position Korea as a top choice for Indian leisure, business and MICE travellers.
