Major Arrest in Chandigarh: PS 19 Police Apprehend Serial Offender in Snatching Case

The team of Police Station-19, Chandigarh under the leadership of Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur W/SSP/UT and close supervision of Mridul SP/City and headed by Palak Goel DSP/East UT, Chandigarh & personally led by Insp. Juldan Singh, SHO PS-19, Chandigarh achieved major success by arresting a snatcher in case FIR No. 10 dt 16.02.2024 U/S 379 B, 34 IPC added 411 IPC, PS-19, CHD.

This case has been registered on the written complaint of Diksha D/o Rajinder Singh R/o H No. 1124, Sec-18 CHD in which she reported that she is working in gym as a sales executive. On 16.02.2024 at about 5:40 a.m, when she was reached near Tagore theatre, a Bolero car stopped in front of her on the road, and a boy from the left seat of bolero came to her on foot and started asking her about Sector 17, then he turned and asked her the time and even after asking the time he started following her. She refused, he pulled her and he hit a blow on her face and snatched her pink color bag and ran away from the spot. She notice the car number CH01AW2798 white color bolero kind of. She has I phone 7 without SIM, two passport size photos, two ATM cards, photo copy of Aadhar card containing in her bag. She can identify both the boys.

During the course of investigation, the accused Akshay Sharma@Kuku S/o Sarv Mohan Sharma R/o H.No. 1740, Sector 39/B, Chandigarh age 32 yrs was arrested on 01.04.2024 and was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Sh. Jaspreet Singh Minhas, JMIC, Chandigarh and obtained 02 days police remand.

During the further investigation, on marksmanship of accused, recovered snatched bag containing documents i.e. Aadhar Card, ATM Cards, and passport size photographs of complaints and also recovered the Bolero Car No. CH01AW2798 which was used to snatched incident.
