Newly elected office bearers of Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana met with the CM of Haryana Manohar Lal

The newly elected office bearers of Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana met with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal and sought his blessings and guidance for the future vision of legal fraternity. They were accompanied by Baldev Raj Mahajan Ld. Advocate General for the State of Haryana.

A delegation of Bar Council Members and Bar representatives led by Ashok Singla Chairman, Ranvir Singh Dhaka Vice Chairman and Raj Kumar Chauhaan Hony’ Secretary met the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana at his residence while offering sweets and a memento on the occasion of their recent election victory. Also presented a picture of Babasaheb celebrating his 100 years as a lawyer (1923-2023).

Ashok Singla, Chairman raised concerns relating to the legal fraternity in the state of Haryana, infrastructure for advocates, budgetary issues of Bar Associations and sought the CM’s support on genuine advocate-related issues which shall be raised from time to time.

Ranvir Dhaka Vice Chairman stressed upon the need to reduce financial burden upon Bar Associations, including coverage of Bar rooms and other common areas under ‘public utility services’ for all purposes. Raj Kumar Chauhaan Hony’ Secretary while speaking on the issue of stipend to young lawyers and the need to roll out other financial aid schemes for advocates and their families, pushed for greater government support for lawyers.

Hon’ble The Chief Minister of Haryana, while assuring the Chairman and other office bearers of all possible support, stressed on the need to make access to justice available for the poor people of the state. He reminded of the sacred duty of lawyers, and congratulated the newly elected office bearers on their victory.

The Bar Council is thankful to Baldev Raj Mahajan, Ld. Advocate General Haryana for accompanying and championing the cause of lawyer’s rights.
