PUNJAB CM BHAGWANT MANN AND DELHI CM ARVIND KEJRIWAL LAUNCH ‘CM DI YOG SHALA’ IN PUNJAB

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann envisioned that the ‘CM di Yog Shala’ will act as a stepping stone for carving out a healthy, vibrant, prosperous and progressive Punjab.

Addressing the gathering after launching portal for flagship program of ‘CM ki Yog Shala, the Chief Minister, accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, said that this citizen centric project is the brainchild of the Delhi CM and had attained lot of popularity amongst people. He said that a large number of populace in national capital was benefitted from this pro-people initiative. Bhagwant Mann said that due to this only Punjab has replicated this scheme in the state to ensure that Punjabis can get huge benefit from it.

The Chief Minister said that people can dial toll free number 7669 400 500 or login to https://cmdiyogshala.punjab.gov.in  for free yoga training adding that this step is a path breaking initiative aimed at creating a mass movement to carve out a healthy and prosperous Punjab. He envisioned that in consonance with the glorious ancient tradition of India, these Yogshalas will help in making the Punjabis healthy, both physically and mentally. Bhagwant Mann said that as a part of this campaign trained Yoga instructors will impart free Yoga training to people in open parks and other public places.

The Chief Minister said that the primary motive of this campaign is to ensure that a mass campaign is started for making Punjab healthy, prosperous and progressive. He said that yoga was very essential for a fit body and sound mind adding that every individual should make yoga an integral part of their daily life to remain hale and hearty. Bhagwant Mann said that the  ‘CM di Yogshala’ campaign will act as a pivotal to create awareness amongst the people about ensuring good health and hygiene by practicing Yoga.

The Chief Minister said that it is the need of the hour not only to maintain good health but also de-stress the people, who face numerous challenges every day in their lives. He said that rising stress levels amongst people is a major cause of concern for everyone and Yoga can play an important role in saving the people from it. Bhagwant Mann said that it is essential to maintain mental and physical equilibrium by living a quality life by making certain changes in lifestyle and by practicing Yoga.

The Chief Minister said that pandemic covid had given a number of lessons to the people and taught them to stay in love with nature. He said that though pandemic had several serious repercussions but it helped in reducing environmental pollution too. Bhagwant Mann urged the people to respect the nature and live their lives as per the law of nature.

The Chief Minister also announced that state government will open 10 hi-tech centres for imparting training to the students for competitive exams. Bhagwant Mann said that these centres will provide quality training to youth for clearing the UPSC exams and sit on coveted positions in state and country. He said that the target of state government is to ensure that youth sit in high offices and not in the prisons by indulging in some illegal activity.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is giving major fillip to sports for channelising the unbounded energy of youth in positive direction. He said that the mega Kheda Watan Punjab dian was a step forward towards this direction only as the mega event saw participation of lakhs of players. Bhagwant Mann further said that the state government is reviving around 14,000 sports and youth clubs across the state to ensure that youth are benefitted from it.

The Chief Minister further said that the state government has dedicated more than 500 Aam Aadmi Clinics across the state to impart quality health services in the state. He said that these clinics are providing world class treatment and diagnostic facilities to the people free of cost. Bhagwant Mann said that so far 21.21 lakh patients have been benefitted from these Aam Aadmi clinics adding that lakhs of patients have undergone free tests in merely few months.

The Chief Minister said that in a major relief to the farmers of the state the state government has announced 25% upward revision in the compensation for the crop loss to the farmers. He said that in case the loss is more than 75% then the state government will compensate the farmers with Rs 15,000 per acre. Bhagwant Mann said that the motive is to ensure the well being of the farmers at all costs adding that special Girdawari is going on in state and the compensation will be disbursed before Baisakhi.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is fully with the beleaguered peasantry in this hour of deep crisis. He further said that in a major pro-farmer initiative, the state government has decided to freeze repayment of loans taken by the farmers from Primary Agricultural cooperative Societies. Bhagwant Mann said that the government will fully compensate the hapless farmers of the state for the losses suffered by them.

The Chief Minister said that 117 Schools of Eminence have been setup in 23 districts of the state to provide quality education to children.  Bhagwant Mann said that these schools will focus on grooming students for five professional and competitive courses including engineering, law, commerce, UPSC and NDA. He said that these schools will enable the youth to compete with their counterparts educated in other parts of globe.

In his address, Delhi Chief Minister said that new experiments have been made in the national capital. He said that these experiments are getting rousing response from the common man. Kejriwal said that the pro-people initiatives of Delhi government are being replicated in several other parts of the state too.

The Delhi Chief Minister said this Yog shala is being started in four cities Patiala, Phagwara, Amritsar and Ludhiana adding that it will be extended to other parts of state too. He said as a part of campaign free yoga will be taught to the people by trained yoga instructors to the people. Kejriwal said that at a high time 17,000  people of Delhi had took yoga training free of cost until it was stopped abruptly by the LG of Delhi.

The Delhi Chief Minister said that Yoga will make Punjabis healthy by keeping the diseases at bay. He also lauded Bhagwant Mann for taking several path breaking initiatives in field of education, health and most importantly in law and order. Kejriwal said that due to the strenuous efforts of state government most of the gangsters, who were patronised by the previous governments, are behind the bars today.

The Delhi Chief Minister said that due to concerted efforts of the state government justice will be ensured in cases pertaining to sacrilege. He said that soon the nexus of politicians, bureaucrats and  drug smugglers which has destroyed the generations of state through drug menace will be behind the bars. Kejriwal also lauded the state government for maintaining peace in the state despite of turmoil in several other parts of country.

The Delhi Chief Minister also appreciated the state government for giving healing touch to the farmers by 25% hike in compensation for crop loss. He said that Bhagwant Mann is a true votary of Punjab and Punjabis due to which he is concerned for the well being of every strata of society. Kejriwal also hailed the initiatives being taken by Punjab Chief Minister for the well being of the youth of state by making them active partners of socio-economic growth of state.

Earlier, Health Minister Dr Balbir welcomed the dignitaries on the occasion. Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua proposed vote of thanks during the event.

The Chief Minister and Delhi Chief Minister also handed over a cheque of Rs 90 lakh to district authorities for renovation of the Polo ground.

On the occasion Cabinet Ministers Chetan Singh Jauremajra and Dr Balbir, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua, Additional Principal Secretary to CM A Venuprasad and others were also present.
