Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced complete overhaul of the Industrial Focal Points and Industrial zones in the coming days to encourage the industrial activity in the state.

Addressing the gathering during Sarkaar- Sannatkaar Milni, the Chief Minister said that the Focal Points and Industrial zones are in dilapidated conditions which are hampering the development of industries. He said that this will be soon overcome by ensuring comprehensive development of these focal points and industrial areas in the coming days. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that a detailed blueprint has been prepared for this noble cause to facilitate the industrialists and give a facelift to the Focal points.

The Chief Minister also announced plans to provide power meters and other basic amenities to the people residing  in the colonies. He said that the labour class and others living in these colonies will be given these meters and other facilities so that they can live their life comfortably. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that access to basic civic amenities is the right of every individual and the state government will ensure it by all means.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has given a major relief to the industrialists aspiring to construct any building. He said that if any industrialist aspires to construct a building by excavating a basement then he has to apply it on the Invest Punjab portal. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the permission for this will be given within 72 hours and even if it is not approved within this period then it will be deemed approved. 

The Chief Minister also announced three years exemption to the Ludhiana industry, from shifting, situated in the residential areas. He also said that the state government will constitute a committee for deciding the status of such areas in the coming times. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is committed to the growth of the industry in Ludhiana and no stone will be left unturned for it.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to provide a congenial atmosphere to the industry in the state. He said that industry grows when they have faith in policies of the government, law and order is there and the state government is working untiringly for them. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government will make all efforts to ensure that Punjab emerges as the front ranking state in the country in the industrial sector.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has introduced new industrial policy in the state after due consultations with the captains of industry. He said that the industry must use them and if needed it will be suitably amended in the coming times too. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these Milnis will be made a regular feature in the coming days.

The Chief Minister said that the flights from Ludhiana to Hindon have already been started and now efforts will be made to give direct connectivity of the city to Delhi. He said that new flights to Delhi are not being permitted currently but then also the state government will flag up this issue with the Union government. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause to facilitate the industry.

The Chief Minister said that for the first time the state government is organising these milnis to facilitate the traders and industrialists. He said that earlier big events were organised just as a photo opportunity and were not at all fruitful for industry or the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government has reversed this trend and now these meetings are aimed at the well being of the industrialists.

The Chief Minister said that in the industrial sector the state has no competition with any other state at the local level. He said that the state now eyes to compete with China and put it behind in the industrial sector. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this will be possible only with the support of the innovative and hard working industrial captains.

Making a scathing attack on the opposition parties, the Chief Minister said that those who were living in palatial houses during their heydays of power have been ousted from the political scene of the state. He said that the state has witnessed the dawn of a new era as these people who were considered invincible have been shown the door by the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that due to this a change has been witnessed in Punjab and for the first time people centric decisions have acquired centre-stage in the process of governance.

The Chief Minister said that during the previous regimes people used to be scared of success as the leaders used to put share in their ventures. He said that these leaders looted the masses, especially the successful industrialists. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that several restrictions were imposed on industrialists and then also they were branded as thieves by previous state governments.

The Chief Minister said that now the state has an industrial friendly government with a real single window system. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this system was earlier a sham as no one utilised it in real sense. He said earlier the MoU were signed with families but now with the state and its people.
