Sacred Heart celebrated the 75th Independence Day with grandeur, gaiety and patriotic fervour. The Tricolor was hoisted by the chief guest Col Anupam Singh Randhawa, Commanding Officer, 1 Chandigarh Girls Bn NCC, Chandigarh along with Rev Sr. Lucy, the Manager, Rev. Sr Arti, the Principal, and Sr. Kusum, the Vice Principal, amidst every heart and voice resonating the school premises with ‘Vande Matram’.
The NCC Cadets and NSS Volunteers marched proudly to the beats of the school band as the chief guest took the salute.
Heartians held the audience mesmerized with the array of performances which reflected our rich cultural heritage and the stellar progress of India in every field. The musical and dance recitals ‘ Ek He Rooh-e-Watan’ and,‘ Glimpses of India’s Heritage’ rekindled the spirit of patriotism and raised the passion to the crescendo.
Col. Anupam Singh Randhawa raved about the scintillating performances that were soaked in patriotic ardour. He further added as we navigate through this period of Amrit Kaal (25 years between India@75 and India@100), the youth must be the instruments of transformation and exalt India to the zenith.
Rev. Sr Arti exhorted the students to rise and play their role as individuals, groups, humane societies and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
The celebration concluded with the National anthem.
