SKAL International India launched its Lucknow Chapter at the recently opened most modern and ecofriendly hotel “The Centrum” at Sushant Golf City, Lucknow.
Founded in 1934, today Skål International has a professional network of almost 13,000 members in more than 340 clubs in over 100 Countries, with India being the largest membership-based country. The membership is open to 42 identified verticals of the travel, tourism, and hospitality trade and forms the basis for networking opportunities globally with the intent to provide the state of art services. Skål International is a professional organization of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism and friendship.
It was a proud moment as the first president of the Lucknow chapter Sk. Sunil Satyawakta, five new board members including Vice President: Sk. Sukesh Bahadur, Hon. Secretary: Sk. Anupam Shukla, Hon. Treasurer: Sk. Bhagwati P Pant, Internal Auditor: Sk. Deepak Khare and Officer Membership Growth: Sk. Sagar Srivastava along with 19 founder members took their oath in the presence of Skal International India, President – Sk. Carl Vaz, 1st Vice President: Sk. Sanjeev Mehra, 2nd Vice President: Sk. Venkat Reddy, National Secretary: Sk. Krishna Gopalan and International Skal Councilor: Sk. Sarvanan Palanivelu.
The ceremony was witnessed by guests of honor Kanishka Sharma, IFS The Regional Passport Officer, Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, Vice-Chancellor of Lucknow University, and Manish Goel, Chairman, Group, and owner of The Centrum.
The evening also had an array of events that portrayed the rich cultural tradition of Lucknow showcasing the dance form of Kathak which left the audience, especially the visitors to Lucknow spellbound. Emceed by Dr. Rizwan Ahmad and his Urdu couplets and English phrases and the member profile videos created by Sk. Dr. Anupama Srivastava tied up the show.
President, Lucknow Chapter Sk. Sunil Satyawakta said that the introduction of SKAL Lucknow has happened at a crucial juncture when the Government is being proactive in branding Uttar Pradesh internationally.
