Surendra Singh Yadav IPS taken charge as the new DGP of Chandigarh

A warm welcome parade in respect of newly joined Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh, Surendra Singh Yadav, IPS, (AGMUT-1997 batch officer) was organized at Parade Ground of RTC, Police Lines, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
The parade contingents of Chandigarh Police headed by the Parade Commander P. Abhinandan, SDPO/North East Chandigarh Police, marched down along with pipe band & brass band and gave general salute to the DGP/UT. The march was followed by Mounts Squad and Vajra Tear Gas, X Kawach, Water Canon, QRT, Mobile Police Station, etc.
R.K. Singh, IPS, IGP/UT, Sumer Partap Singh, IPS, SSP/Traffic & Security, Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT, Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/ Headquarters, Mridul, IPS, SP/City, all DSPs, Inspectors and about 350 police officials of NGO/ORs rank attended the programme from all the units of the Chandigarh Police force. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP/UT, given the welcome speech at the function.
Surendra Singh Yadav, IPS is officer of 1997 Batch from AGMUT Cadre. He completed his Post Graduate Degree in M.A. (Political Science) from Rajasthan University, Jaipur. During his 26 years of embellishing service, he successfully held various important responsibilities and dealing with all aspects of policing, various law & order situations, crime, traffic, conducting general elections etc. During his outstanding performances and record, he has been awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Republic Day-2015. He has also professionally handled the arrangements of G-20 Leader’s Summit-2023 which involved comprehensive coordination and implementation of traffic arrangements, with a focus on facilitating the seamless transit of Head of States & other VVIPs.
Surendra Singh Yadav, IPS, DGP/UT, in his official address thanked all present at the function for organizing a wonderful disciplined welcome parade. He said Chandigarh Police is a family and he will be available to all being a DGP/UT. The initiatives will be taken for the welfare of the Chandigarh Police as well as for citizens. The priority should be given to the Public work with transparency and accountability. We being a team will give best services to the citizens of Chandigarh. The function was followed by high tea in a congenial environment of esprit-de- corps and the Chandigarh Police Band played melodious tunes for the members of the force.
At the evening, DGP/UT, Chandigarh chaired a meeting with all the Inspectors and DSPs of Chandigarh Police and briefed them to maintain transparency and discipline in their working.
