The valedictory function of the month-long Internship Program of Final year law Interns from Panjab University, Chandigarh of Chandigarh Commission for protection of Child Rights was organized in the Conference Hall of CCPCR.
Surender Kumar, Member Secretary, SLSA, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest on this occasion. In the welcome address, Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR appreciated the enthoum and dedication of the interns throughout their sessions. After the Induction training session on POCSO Act, the 14 different groups of interns visited different schools every day and covered 101 Government Schools of U.T. Chandigarh. Along with awareness sessions, interns monitored the working of child-friendly Committees and legal literacy clubs under the supervision of the Commission. Several case studies were also conducted and students are directed to form STUDENTS SAFETY NET through awareness by senior to junior students in each school.
Students also registered their feedback through a google form. During the program, interns shared their experiences and in-depth utility of such wide exposure to them as well as the awakening among students about their rights in general and POCSO reporting in particular.
On the occasion, Surender Kumar, Member Secretary, SLSA, Chandigarh guided the interns to utilize this experience in their profession and make it a regular practice to keep socially attached to contribute the society. He was overwhelmed to see the volume of work conducted during the internship program. The certificate were delivered to the participants in the presence of Dr. Monica Singh, Pooja Punchhi Members, CCPCR and Ankita, POCSO Consultant. The Commission also thanked Ravinder Kaur, Ex-Officio Member, CCPCR for her wholehearted support.
