Reinforcing the importance of community policing, the SDPO (East) along with the Station House Officers (SHOs) of Police Stations 19 and 26 held an interactive meeting with members of various Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and Market Welfare Associations (MWAs) to discuss measures aimed at enhancing safety and security in the area.
During the meeting, police officials and residents exchanged views on several key issues, including the installation and maintenance of CCTV cameras, strengthening police patrolling, effective tenant verification, and addressing parking-related concerns. The discussions focused on identifying local challenges and developing collaborative solutions to improve overall security.
The police officers emphasized that active public participation is crucial in crime prevention and maintaining law and order. They encouraged residents and market representatives to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious activities, and support police initiatives aimed at creating a safer environment.
Highlighting the role of technology in crime prevention, officials stressed the need for wider CCTV coverage at strategic locations to enhance surveillance and aid investigations. Residents were also advised to ensure proper tenant verification and maintain updated records to help prevent criminal activities.
The meeting concluded with a commitment from both the police and community representatives to work closely together in strengthening neighborhood security. Officials reiterated that regular interaction and cooperation between citizens and the police form the foundation of a safe, secure, and responsive policing system.
“A strong partnership between the police and the public is the most effective tool for ensuring community safety and security,” the officers said.
